It's the Venice of China! Shuzhou or Hongzhou...I fergit which...^^;

Such a lovely little village. You can see little children playing and people doing landry...
Even though the place looks so run-down, I think that this captures a glimpse of China's past. People still follow traditions that have been followed years before; families for generations have lived in the same houses...
*le sigh*

This is the last picture, I promise! I'm off to New Orleans on spring break for 2 weeks, so bye byez y'all!

sometimes you have to listen to silence in order to hear music

You're right. Even thought they have advanced, China still seems to have kept it's old traditions.

i like it...there's something alienating and romantic about it. i love old shitty houses and for some reason when something beaten down and decrepit also happens to be damp, it just kills me. classy stuff...but of course, as rare as it is that i comment on something...there's something about the lack of a monochromatic texture in the water that lends the photo a certain geographical identity, in other words: detracting from the universality of the aesthetic...you know...brown hudson river gunk and shit to remind us it's the age of the self-policing corportate polluter, otherwise excellent...but i feel the composition itself could be more alienating...then again, i've always been opposed to the idea of "explaining" you own art...if you've noticed, i never do it...for example, we can see where the little neighborhood ends, and we know where it is, because you've told us, so it's not isolated from its environment...i dunno, thismight all sound like shit to you, but whatever...good work

btw - the opportunist, i have new poems up
:iconkoukris:
Haha, thanks for the comment! I don't think it's shit at all! Everything you've said makes sense and I'm glad that this photo actually made you think a little! (haha...I have no idea what to think of it myself)

Thanks again! And I'll be sure to check up the new poems! =P
